  • The PV park generates approximately 28,700 megawatt hours of clean energy annually.

  • Important building block for the green industrial and commercial area “Pommerndreieck”

Rostock/Klevenow/Süderholz , June 17, 2026 – Milestone for the East Energy Group: The Rostock-based company celebrated the completion of its ground-mounted photovoltaic plant in Klevenow/Süderholz (Vorpommern-Rügen district) on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Located near the A20 motorway at Grimmen, the plant has a nominal output of 27.4 MWp (megawatt peak) and will generate approximately 28,700 megawatt hours (MWh) of clean energy annually.

“A great moment for the entire team. We have years of hard work behind us. We can be proud that we have realized this project. I thank everyone involved who championed the PV park,” said Dirk Petschick, CEO of the East Energy Group, who, together with Mathias Künicke, Managing Director of the parent company Zelestra Deutschland, and representatives from politics and administration, cut the symbolic ribbon.

Use renewable energy regionally

The Klevenow photovoltaic plant is an important component in the development of the "Pomeranian Triangle" green business and industrial location. The aim of the holistic concept is to utilize the renewable energy from solar and wind power generated in the municipality of Süderholz even more extensively in the future.

“Companies want to source clean, independent energy. These are precisely the conditions being created in the green ‘Pommerndreieck’ commercial and industrial area. This is a competitive advantage for the region,” emphasized Ina-Maria Ulbrich, State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and Construction of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Planned production of green hydrogen

The next step involves intelligently linking generation, storage, and consumption. Battery storage will help to balance fluctuations in electricity generation and provide renewable energy when it is needed locally. Furthermore, surplus renewable energy will be used promptly for the production of green hydrogen.

“It was important to us as a community that not only a solar park be built here, but that the foundations for a green industrial and commercial area be laid. Green hydrogen can also contribute to added value in the region,” said Alexander Benkert, mayor of the municipality of Süderholz.

With the completion of the Klevenow photovoltaic park in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the East Energy Group is consistently continuing its transformation from project developer to operator of renewable energy plants. The construction of further renewable energy plants is planned for this year and next.
