Green hydrogen, eMethanol and more
Power to X by East Energy
More than
only electricity
Renewable energies not only provide clean electricity but also form the basis for new, versatile energy sources. These can be stored and transported and used in industry and transportation. Thus, wind and solar energy become more than just electricity.
East Energy is your reliable partner in this area and can thus actively shape the transition to sustainable energy sources, paving the way for a climate-friendly future.

What does the “X” in Power to X stand for?
With Power to X, electricity (power) is used to generate various energy sources. The "X" stands for the respective energy form that is created as an intermediate or final product in the various production processes. At European Energy, we focus on the following products:

Green hydrogen
Green hydrogen can be used directly in heavy industries such as steel or cement production. Here, hydrogen can replace fossil fuels, including industrial process heat. Furthermore, hydrogen can be used as a storage medium for renewable energy and, if needed, as a fuel in fuel cells to generate electricity, for example, for the transport sector.
E-Methanol
E-methanol is the product of a chemical process based on green hydrogen and biogenic CO2. This process uses biogenic CO2 and captures it from existing CO2 sources. E-methanol has many potential applications, including as a fuel for heavy-duty transport vehicles such as trucks and ships, or as a raw material for the plastics industry and the production of green, sustainable plastic products.
e-SAF
e-SAF, or “sustainable aviation fuel,” is an aviation fuel based on electrolysis. It is a more sustainable alternative to kerosene and can be used as a direct substitute.
What is Power to X?
"Power to X" (PtX) refers to the conversion of electricity from wind or solar energy into other energy forms or raw materials. These include hydrogen or methanol.
How does Power to X work?
For a more sustainable global economy, sectors such as shipping, aviation and the chemical industry must also significantly reduce their emissions.
However, the direct use of renewable electricity is technically difficult to implement in these areas. Power to X offers a flexible alternative.
This can significantly reduce carbon emissions in sectors such as transport, heavy industry and plastics.
