We are delighted to welcome you to our world of innovative future technologies! One goal drives all our projects and services: to create a holistic energy cycle based on sector coupling. Sector coupling – a major buzzword in the energy transition. But what exactly do we mean by it? Sector coupling involves connecting the electricity, heating, and mobility sectors. Sector 1: Electricity To power our technologies with green electricity, we are involved in the project development of photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy plants. We secure land that is well-suited for renewable energy sources and develop it to the point of construction readiness. The electricity generated can be supplied not only to our infrastructure but also to the surrounding communities, thus making a significant contribution to energy security. Sector 2: Mobility With this self-produced, green electricity, we can operate electrolyzers. By carrying out electrolysis, we are able to split water, or H₂O, into its components: hydrogen and oxygen. Now we have green hydrogen, which makes transportation more sustainable as a fuel for vehicles. But that's not all. The green electricity also powers our methanol plants, where eMethanol is produced from green hydrogen and biogenic CO2. Why all this? eMethanol is a sustainable fuel alternative for global shipping. The ecological footprint of global shipping is extremely high and responsible for almost 3% of global CO2 emissions. A green alternative is needed – and we provide it! Sector 3: Heat Finally, our electric locomotives also cover the heat sector. Valuable waste heat is generated as a byproduct of hydrogen production, which we can use in local and district heating networks, thus strengthening the local economy.
